Balemaster Baler – High Density Balers to the Rescue

Growing Pains? Turn to Balemaster for your waste management and material recycling baler needs.

Three Viable Questions

As your business grows, so does your waste in cardboard, paper, chipboard, newsprint, cans, non-wovens, or plastic bottles. It’s inevitable, because producing waste is simply an integral part of running a thriving business. However, what’s important to consider are your current waste management shortcomings.

A) Is your baler or compactor able to keep up with the demand? For example: A limited charge capability and a small feed opening, or throat size, can cause bridge jamming problems which can take, at times, three hours to clear. Ultimately it will involve valuable employee time to get things back on track, which equates to money. Additionally, severe bottlenecks can shut your production line down. And how often has this occurred at your plant or distribution center?

B) Or are they running inefficiently due to your increased workload? Similarly, your increased production activity may be generating undue stress on your outdated baler, causing it to perform less reliably.

C) And what about your bale size? If your bales are underweight or too small, loading and unloading can be a time-consuming task. Plus, trucks hauling the bales would fill up long before they reached their weight limit. Additionally, you might not be filling the shipping capacity cost effectively.

Listen, lower productivity from your baler results in higher costs for everyone.

Balemaster’s High Density Balers to the Rescue

At one point you need to ask yourself, “Are we using the best equipment available? Are we growing in the best possible way?” If each answer is a resounding “no”, then it’s time to circumvent the above issues by contacting the worldwide baling industry leader – Balemaster, Inc. Balemaster has successfully designed and manufactured a wide array of balers for use in a variety of industry categories as well for whatever stage of productivity growth each business is in.

In fact, if your business is ready, you may want to look at Balemaster’s High Density Balers. Larger and denser bales are the key to reducing, among other things, employee time, shipping costs, and energy usage. An Auto-Tie system and easy-to-use Touch Screen Interface saves you in both maintenance repair costs and man hours operating the baler. Additionally, Balemaster’s hydraulics provides maximum efficiencies, using regenerative circuits and dual power packs to minimize horsepower usage saving your firm energy.

Growing pains are commonplace for successful businesses. Balemaster simply wants to assure you that they can meet your waste management demands today and tomorrow.

Balemaster Baler – Product Innovations

Balemaster's Additional Unique Baler Products

If you know Balemaster, then you know of the many exceptionally performing automated waste-management balers that they have to offer.  However, what you may not know is that Balemaster also offers a number of unique baling products to further enhance the shredding and baler function of your baler.

Well known for their quality performance, reliability and service, Balemaster has been an industry pioneer in using leading-edge technology to develop innovative design in baler structure, control systems, power packages and automatic wire tiers, to meet the demands of the market place.  So, it’s no wonder that they are also instrumental in providing innovative ways to make automated waste handling even more profitable for you.  Let’s take a look:

Balemaster’s Dust Briquetter

The Balemaster Dust Briquetter creates a rock hard 60 to 70 pound per cubic foot puck using high compression forces. The streamline design, 16-inch long feed hopper, and low profile feed chute height, allow for a good fit under standard bag-house filter systems.  The energy efficient hydraulic power packs – from 7.5 to 10 horsepower – meet varying capacity requirements.

Fluffers

Mounted on top of the baler's feed chute, the fluffer helps prepare paper waste for baling by "fluffing" and distributing it evenly in the charging chamber.

Metering Conveyors

Balemaster’s patented "Metering" conveyor eliminates time-consuming hand loading.  Waste is fed at a uniform rate to either the baler or shredder.  It’s designed for many "Dump and Run" applications and is available in 36, 42, and 60-inch widths.

Automatic Bottle Perforators (PET/HDPE)

This unique product line perforates plastic bottles, allowing air to escape. As a result, the output capacity of the baler is increased by up to 50%.  It’s ideal for high volume bottle handling requirements.

Can Compactors

Balemaster’s Can Compactors offer a simple way to crush and compact steel and aluminum cans.  They reject ‘filled with fluid’ cans and produce a circular 17" diameter bale for easy handling.

Transfer & Storage Systems

Balemaster can design and build a system used to accumulate and store finished bales.  It is used in conjunction with your scheduled forklift operations.  These can be a huge asset in facilitating "unmanned" operations.

Balemaster has always responded to changing industries by offering the deepest product line, 100-plus models, capable of cost effectively meeting any automatic waste handling challenge in a variety of ways.  It all adds up.   Balemaster Makes Your Baling Process More Profitable.

Balemaster’s constant emphasis on engineering excellence, quality manufacturing and product innovation assures that their customers are receiving the very best balers and other automated waste handling equipment in the industry for baling items such as corrugated cardboard boxes, paper, folding cartons, chipboard, OCC, ONP, PET, HDPE, films, foils, aluminum cans, non-wovens and other material for recycling.

Balemaster Balers – Baling versus Trash Hauling

Do I use a baler or just trash my OCC?

Distribution centers, warehouses, paper mills, and others have a decision to make. “What is the most time-efficient and cost-effective way to discard OCC (old corrugated cardboard)? Baling or trash hauling?”

Businesses are often surprised at how much cardboard they generate. Corrugated packaging is a $17 billion per-year industry and accounts for the largest segment of the entire packaging industry. Over 90% of all products in North America are shipped in corrugated boxes. It becomes quite evident that there’s a need to recycle cardboard. Recycling frees space, creates a safer work environment, is environmentally friendly, and can be a source of revenue.

Many businesses recycle loose OCC, that is, they simply toss unflattened cardboard into a container which then gets hauled away. But, loose OCC can be bulky and take up a lot of space in dumpsters. Revenue-wise, if cardboard is currently selling at $0.50 per 100 pounds ($10 per ton) in a loose form, this same cardboard in baled form may bring $20 per ton. Why? Because baled cardboard is sold by each bale’s weight and not by the truckload. Furthermore, baling provides additional savings resulting from avoiding weekly or monthly hauling costs, by compacting several materials for recycling, or by sharing a baler with another company.

If your business is recycling tons of bulky OCC that’s currently taking up a lot of space in the dumpster, especially if unflattened, you may find it more cost effective to bale or compact the material. And the more compact you can make it, the better. Loose material is worth about 40% of heavy, baled material. For example, 50lbs of loose, unbaled corrugated cardboard is approx. 1 cubic yard. When it’s compacted your 1 cubic yard will now weigh 400lbs – 8 times the weight of unbaled. (US EPA)

These cost benefits are merely the beginning of what you can experience when incorporating a baler versus trash hauling. To explore your options further, and to discover other cost and time efficiencies, contact the world leader in baling technology - Balemaster.
